if you have enough free time to read this post, you should have enough time to visit the website and explore worlds outside your own. but don't get too caught up in them, coz i'm pretty sure you're not done exploring yours. i know i havent.
watched a james bond dvd today. dr no. its an old one. turned out it was not as boring as i had expected. haha. sean connery cant compare to pierce brosnan and daniel craig i feel, though im sure those on the other side of the generation gap would strongly object. whatever. opinions differ.
started learning the guitar today. im exploring the world of music. one not where im a mere passive listener, but one where im active. with the help of the internet, hopefully i can be proficient with the instrument by end of january. i plan to spend a half hour on it every day. learnt the G, C and D major chords today. man my hand is gonna fall off. feel like a contortionist. hope im doing it right.
check this out. an endangered people movement. its amazing how we place importance on the wrong things. how we think we've got our priorities right when we dont. how blind we can be. the thing is... that while we had endangered animal species movements in the 20th century, the endangered people movement lagged behind by a whole century. yes, we're talking about a movement against genocide. "never again" germany, and the world, said after the holocaust. its a lie. and people are still suffering.

watched the kingdom on hbo just now. ITS A MOVIE WORTH WATCHING. theme is terrorism, set in saudi arabia. jennifer garner. watched it in the cinema a while back and it still affected me the same way as before. the defining line to me in the show is "we're gonna kill them all," used as a tool of comfort to those who have experienced a tragic loss as a result of terrorism and the war against it. though on the surface, from a third party's point of view, it may seem inhumane, irrational and anyone thinking rationally can see that such a mindset is the cause of the endless propagation of violence and loss. but on a personal level, can one really blame them for their vengeful anger? those who can overcome the anger are the blessed ones, those who can see that two wrongs do not make a right.
looking back on the posts ive written i realise that im quite an advocate of looking outside the individual's world into another. well, here's some balance. let me look inward into my sphere and analyse what's going on with my immediate environment and the people who directly affect me and i directly affect.
i think my family's quite happy where we are now. living comfortably. there's always the stupid childish argument between parents. and my occasional disturbing my sister coz im so bored. and our occasional snide remarks at our youngest brother for being so different. haha. it's all in good fun. but i still cant wait to break free in a sense. want to be financially independent. self-sufficient. and i want to travel.
dont really know what's going on with my eldest brother. he came by recently to play guitar hero. haha. asked me to play with him but i dont find it very fun. havent touched the console for some time now. my elder sister enjoys the fruit of her labour. she works really hard, sometimes staying up till unimaginably late. but i think she likes the nature of what she does. plus she just told me that she's gone for 3 foot massages this week! my second brother is in ns. comes home occasionally and never fails to spend hours playing the soccer game, winning 11 or something, when he does. spends quality time with his girlfriend and brings her home every once in a while. i wonder if she's it. my younger sister's usually tired when she gets home from school. but she always has enough energy to do some cleaning up etc. she hasnt gone out for a while i think, which is why i wanna bring her out. my youngest brother is seldom at home. when he is, he's playing a game or on the computer. if not, then he's out with his friends. i need to get him to study!
as for my friends. i think im sufficiently socially active. i would be overly active if i wasnt so restricted by my wallet. a blessing in disguise i guess. i go out for the occasional movie. meet up with old friends for lunch or dinner every month or so. we're gonna travel together right friends? after uni? haha.
